Spring surprises

One of the quirks of living in a new place is finding out what bulbs have been planted that will give you pretty flowers come spring time. In our last place all we had was a cluster of daffodils by the shed which flowered for a few weeks and seemingly took forever to die out. A few years after we moved a single daffodil was pushing through the cracks of the patio that was at the back of the garden, I never quite worked out how it got there in the first place.

In here so far I’ve only seen little clusters of narcissus (like daffodils but smaller). I was vaguely hoping someone had planted snowdrops but it’s now March and I’ve not seen any so I think I’ll have to find a good spot to plant some this autumn.

Speaking of garden things, I now have two raised beds in place so we now have a choice to make on what to try and grow. I’m hoping we’ll have better luck at good harvests this time than we had before now that we have better access to our garden. Time will tell.
