Except he doesn't, not in explicit terms anyway. But it's fine, as I said before, I'm glad they're back to how they were before season 8.
If I had to guess I'd say it has something to do with William, the elephant in the room that no one has spoken about in all the news we've had about the revival. Sure they could elect to ignore the issue completely but it would be a little silly to do so.
