This week in Face My Enemy we got to dance in more ways than one. Here’s a quick review of this week’s episode.
In case this wasn’t obvious the episode wasn’t just centred around May but specifically around the relationship between Coulson and May, which goes back a long way and is probably deeper than we imagined. Here’s hoping they explore some past missions which will tell us more, like what exactly happened in Bahrain.
We also discovered how much more sophisticated Hydra’s tech in deception is. Not only can they brainwash people, they can also take their appearance. It almost makes you wonder where all that was last season when all they had to worry about was Cybertek and the Deathlok program. This is a very effective way to bring questions into people’s minds like whether Bobbi Morse is brainwashed or playing a convincing mole (answers next week hopefully).
And the dancing, well it wasn’t just a sparkly version of Strictly Come Dancing (I believe the US version is called Dancing With Stars) but a very cool fight scene between May and MayNot, both highly trained S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. I love that slow-mo closer but then I’ve always liked fight scenes anyway.
And of course let’s not forget Fitz who finally gets to dive in to the action and make a life-saving contribution which really bring him right back in to the team.
Ironically we don’t really get to find out much more about the painting itself, only that there’s someone else out there who carves alien writing willy nilly. What I wondered was whether the writing gave the painting some protective powers from the fire and if it did what could be extrapolated from it.
Next week’s A Hen In The Wolfhouse promises to be action packed yet again if you’ve seen the promo trailer for it.
